Prep Science and Engineering Program

The Preparatory Science and Engineering Program consists of two major courses and seven modular courses. Students are required to take two major courses plus four modular courses. The two major courses are PYP 001 (Preparatory Physical Science) and PYP 002 (Introduction to Digital Technologies). PYP001 and PYP002 are laboratory courses of 1 credit hour.
The modular courses are PYP011 (General Safety), PYP012 (Automotive), PYP021 (Graphics), PYP022 (Self-Management), PYP032 (Arduino), PYP031 (MS Office), and PYP042 (Critical Thinking). Each modular course consists of eight contact hours and half credit hour.
Every semester, students must choose two modular courses that are combined in one set. By the end of the second semester, students are expected to complete four modular courses (two sets). However, students would be given an option to add two more elective courses of their interest.

Public Speaking Workshop and Competition

The Prep Year Program is excited to announce the successful completion of a public speaking workshop, which featured the participation of 23 selected students. Led by Mr. Mohammed Al-Zoubi and Mr. Sultan Al-Otaibi, The workshop helped students gain confidence and overcome stage fright. They learned about body language, eye contact, vocal techniques, and how to organize their presentations.

After the workshop, we chose the top three male and three female students to compete in the public speaking competition. These finalists delivered their speeches on February 5, 2025, judged by the esteemed Mr. Ali Abdulrahman Al-Shehri and Mr. Mohammed Jarallah Al-Zahrani.

Congratulations to Reema Ahmed, Nada Alnajdi, Mazen Saeed , Leenah Ahmed , Abdulhakim Sulaiman, and Ridha Alali for their impressive achievements in this year’s competition. This annual event not only boosted students' confidence and helped them overcome stage fright but also empowered them to express their ideas effectively.

For those who didn't compete, attending the event was still a source of inspiration and provided valuable learning experiences through observing the speeches. We hope to see you all next year!
