A seminar was held to improve critical thinking and mathematical writing skills among preparatory year mathematics students. Mr. Aijaz Ahmad highlighted the challenges many students face when entering higher education, particularly regarding their limited experience in analytical reasoning and formal mathematical communication.
The session recognized the need for incorporating reflective writing and structured peer feedback into math instruction. Through guided activities that emphasized justification, logical structure, and clarity of expression, students were able to develop a deeper conceptual understanding and enhance their ability to articulate mathematical arguments.
The strategies introduced during the session reportedly improved students’ reasoning abilities, boosted their confidence in problem-solving, and enhanced precision in mathematical writing at the preparatory level.
